Which way should I go for China Visa? china

I am holding Canadian Password and HK ID card (3 star). planning a trip to china and wondering should I apply for China VISA with my Canadian password or get "回鄉卡" with my HK ID card (is it possible to get from Vancouver?)

PS, I will be entering china from HK or macau but would like to get all the doc fix here before I leave

官方答案就梗係叫你響加拿大中國領使館攞咗簽證，然後用加拿大護照從香港／澳門入中國大陸啦。但如果你係由香港入琛圳或者由澳門過珠海，又邊度會有人咁做？哽係回鄉卡過關就快靚正啦。

不過我諗回鄉卡係一定要響香港申請，而且如果唔係磅水做快證嘅話，要等好多日。

FYI:
If you never have a 回鄉卡 before, you will require to get a China passport first, just your HK ID card isn't enough.
If you have a 回鄉卡 before (even expired), you could still renew it without a China passport.

So if you're on the first case, go apply the China Visa with your Canadian passport is the easiest.  If you're going to frequently travel between HK / China and you have 回鄉卡 before, then getting the 回鄉卡 is more convenient.
