12 SURREY (NEWS1130) - Surrey Mounties are on the scene of a terrible accident. Police say a 36-year-old woman struck and killed her 52-year-old mother while driving into the garage of a home near 64 Ave. and 127 St. just before 1 p.m.
"A woman was pulling the family SUV into the family drive-way. The vehicle driver's mother was in the garage at the time. As the SUV was being negotiated into the garage, for some reason the vehicle accelerated, striking the mother of the family, causing catastrophic injury," explains Cpl. Drew Grainger.
She was rushed to hospital and later died. A small child was also in the car at the time.
Grainger says they don't know why the car shot forward and grief counsellors have been brought in. |
