[西餐] Good old fashion steak? where

Any suggestions as to where to find some good old-fashion hearty steaks?

Morton used to be the place to go, any other restaurants which is similar?

Really you think Carver's is good? I was surprised... I went last June, well maybe things have changed since then... But based on my experiences there, I think Carver's is overpriced with mediocre steak.

My husband ordered the 3 courses set menu with tenderloin and the tenderloin was tasteless and looked burnt. I ordered the rib-eye, medium rare and it came out as medium and very oily. I actually told the manager about the tenderloin and my steak and he claimed that the chef place them on a sizzling plate so it might be cooked a little bit more than desired which I don't quite get it? If I ordered medium rare, why can't the chef timed it so that it came out as "medium rare" after the additional cooking on the sizzling plate? Also the vegetables that come with the entree were soaked in oil which I can barely eat them (basically my entire entree is soaked in oil)

Services were great though coz probably because there was only 4 occupied tables on a Sat night..

I did not say Carver is very good,
I just replied to the question for steak house.
However, I do not go to steak house often because
I really cut down on red meat.
And, besides steak, the menu selection would be very
limited on a steak house menu.
The last time I went to Gotham was 3 years ago.

What exactly is "old fashioned steak"? And what isn't "old fashioned steak"?

For me at least, I find that most KEGs are really good in terms of overall value. It certainly isn't the best steak around, but it is usually very good. And when you compare it to other steaks at similar prices, the KEG's steaks are almost always the tastiest.

As with all restaurants, the quality varieties, depending on the restaurant. Personally, I've never had a bad experience at the one in Burnaby (near Willingdon and Hwy 1), and that is usually the place I go to when I feel like some steak.

Younger consumers go to Keg for gatherings,
the atmosphere is great for the crowd they cater to,
so they are successful for identifying and pleasing their clients.
But for me, the quality is standard but nothing to rave about,
and I do not find it comfortable for a proper dining. I do not
find their menu interesting, I do not like their mega size drink,
and way too loud for me.  It is my own problem.
I do, however, attend dinner meeting 6-8 time monthly, even it is usually boring.
My favorite place for dinner: La Belle Auberge, will be going 3 times
before election.
