Penticton couple missing in the U.S.
Albert and Rita Chretien, 59 and 56 years old, drove into Washington State via Oroville on March 19 in their 2000 Chevy Astro van, with B.C. licence plate 212 CAV.

VANCOUVER -- Canadian and American authorities are investigating the disappearance of a Penticton couple that disappeared during a business trip to Las Vegas.

RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk confirmed Albert and Rita Chretien, 59 and 56 years old, crossed into Washington State via Oroville on March 19, around 7:05 a.m.

They were travelling in their light brown 2000 Chevy Astro van, with B.C. licence plate 212 CAV. The couple's children contacted police when they failed to return home between Monday and Wednesday, as planned.

The couple, business owners in Penticton, never ended up attending the trade show and convention being held in Las Vegas, which was the purpose of their trip.

"To date, the couple's banking activities and cell phone usage have been nil," Moskaluk said. "The Penticton RCMP is liaising with several U.S. police agencies in order to forward the information stateside in attempts to locate the couple."

Anyone with information regarding the Chretiens or their van is asked to contact any of the following:

•The Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300
•Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477
•Okanagan County Sherriff 509-422-7232
•Washington State Patrol 509-682-8090
