0 VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Fire crews in East Vancouver are mopping up following a three-alarm blaze this morning at 28th Avenue and Victoria. One home was destroyed, while two others were damaged.

It started off as a two-alarm blaze, but when crews arrived on the scene, they quickly upped it to a three-alarm.

Battalion Chief Rod MacDonald says this was a tough fire to put out. "When the crews first arrived, we had two houses fully involved. One was an absolute inferno. We had reports of people in one of the structures, which required firefighters to be committed to that."

Luckily, no one was hurt. Twenty people are now without a place to live.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but Macdonald says they're treating it as suspicious because crews had to douse a fire in the same location several weeks ago.
