Obviously not a good news to us....

I wish Horton a speedy recovery, and I seriously hope the concussion was minor and won't have any lasting effectts.

When I first saw the hit, it looked like a really bad hit, and after reviewing it a whole bunch of times, I agree that the hit was late, and definitely deserved a penalty. The fact that the hit resulted in Horton being seriously hurt also justified the 5 min major. However, I don't know if a game suspension was entirely warranted.

On one hand, as the league tries to clamp down on punishing blows and takes a firm stance against hits leading to concussion, a game suspension is entirely warranted.  The NHL needs to put the foot down and sends a clear message across that blows to the head has no place in the game at all. At the same time, if you review the video replay a couple more times, you would clearly have seen that for the whole time, Horton was looking to the side at first, and then he looked down, but never at the direction where he was going. Had Rome played a little smarter, he could have just stood there and Horton would have crashed into him. Or Rome could have done what Hamhuis did in the play that got himself injured, and just hunker down and stand up straight again, and that would have sent Horton flying through the air.

For the hit, I'd say Horton needs to take some responsibility too.

Well... He is not only suspended for game 4 but for the next FOUR games.

BOSTON - Vancouver Canuck defenceman Aaron Rome was handed a four-game suspension by the NHL today for his first-period hit on Boston forward Nathan Horton in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night.

The decision, which means Rome will miss the remainder of the Cup final, was announced early this afternoon following a 20-minute hearing with the league.

NHL is a brutal game that still allows regular fighting. Where else can you find fighting tolerated in major professional team sports? But Canadians still like this game. Maybe this is a reflection of the Canadian mentality.

If you don't know hockey, you should STFU, before embarrassing yourself here.

You need to differentiate between hockey, the game, and the NHL.
While hockey is a nice game, the NHL tolerates regular fighting, and everyone in any other professional sports are aware about this.

You don't see regular fighting tolerated to this extent in other professional team sports.

Not an appropriate and fair comment. Maybe this is a reflection of your mentality.
