SURREY (NEWS1130) - There may be new concerns about one of the leaning towers involved in the power line collapse on the Fraser River Monday.
News1130's Kim Seale is watching crews work from the Air Patrol near King and McBride in Surrey with word that the tower has shifted.
Power has apparently been turned off so there is no danger to people in the area.
BC Hydro has said this is just ongoing repair work that started Thursday.
Concern over the leaning hydro tower also forced CN to evacuate its railyard nearby.
Louis Paquin with the train company says workers were told to leave at 3:30 this afternoon. "Operations were suspended for one hour and after the yard was considered safe employees were allowed to go back. I was informed yard operations resumed at 4:30."
He says CN workers are not in any danger but the company remains in close contact with BC Hydro. |
