KAMLOOPS (NEWS1130) - Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts, who was injured in a horseback riding accident over the weekend, is expected to undergo an MRI today. She was vacationing near Kamloops with her family.
Laura Ballance speaks for the mayor, and says she has two fractured vertebrae. "What we know right now is that the mayor was horseback riding yesterday with her family and she was thrown from her horse."
She was flown to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, where she is in stable condition. It's not known how long she will be hospitalized, as doctors are still conducting tests to determine whether she suffered any other injuries.
Watts does have movement in her limbs.
This is the second serious accident Watts has suffered. Last April, she broke some ribs and had internal injuries after being involved in a car accident. |
