PRINCE RUPERT (NEWS1130) - Three people are dead after a helicopter crashed Sunday north of Prince Rupert.
RCMP Corporal Dan Moskaluk says the chopper was carrying a pilot and two passengers when it went down on what's known as the Nelson Glacier. It's located about 160 kilometres north of Prince Rupert, which is on B.C.'s northern coast.
Moskaluk says the purpose of the flight was for geologic work that was being conducted in the area. He says the cause of the crash is unknown and Transport Canada will lead the investigation.
The names of the victims have not been released.
