It's True that medical insurance sucks here in the US, and I have to say MSP is far better.
Yes, you may need to wait on some medical procedure. However, you wouldn't have to worry about medical insurance if you out of job or retire early. That's not the same here in the US. Many people here working till they are at least 65+ only to keep their insurance.
I have to admit that it is easier to save money here in the US than in Canada. Pay is overall better for a decent job, and housing/rent/cars are less expensive. If you job offers good medical insurance + the lower tax rate, then you can end up saving. In our case, it isn't much of a saving, since my parents live in Vancouver, and childcare for 2 kids are so much more expensive compares to my friend who were able to have their parents taking care of the kids until 2 or 3. For 2 kids at $1000+ per kid, that's $24000/yr. |
