Getting married in China into, understand, Victoria, documents

Just wondering if any LYK can give me abit of advice on this:

My gf is in Beijing and we are getting married. I understand there are some documents that I need to gather before I leave Canada. I have obtained the Marriage Search Certificate and got it translated into Chinese by a certified translator. I was under the impression that I will need to get it notarized then bring it to the chinese embassy to authenticate. Now I was just inform I need to send the documents to Victoria, BC first. I am stuck.

From my memory, after you receive the marriage search certificate,you have to send it to victoria to get it "certified", then take it to the chinese embassy to notarize it. for the translation part, you can do it with a notarized person, or you can translate it where you get marry, and it should be an "oversea related marriage associate/department".
i know it is so damn confuse and tough to marry someone in china, good luck, and be patient.
