my family have Nexus for 1.5yrs. It save lots of time.
usually, through Can/US bounder takes about 5mins (lineup 5-10 cars), compare to 40mins lineup.
plane to US, usually no lineup.
even plane within Canada, it has special route to pass through security check.
I think you talk about nexus card to States.....I have it and is worth la....we went to States at Victoria day, came back to Van, just 10 mins(need to pass all the traffic that block the lane and I think that more than 2 hrs line up at regular lane)
important piece of info:
everyone in your car needs to have a nexus card for the car to go through Nexus lane.
So if you cross the border with family, that's fine. (whole immediate family can apply on the same application)
If you usually go down south with your friends, make sure they all have their cards. Otherwise, it's not going to work.
