Man arrested after throwing cup of urine at schoolgirl in Saitama

Police said Wednesday they have arrested a 30-year-old man for throwing a cup containing urine at a junior high schoolgirl in Koshigaya, Saitama Prefecture.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on July 22, when the girl was on her way home. TV Asahi reported that the suspect, identified as Daisuke Yaoita, drove his car slowly by the girl as she walked along, and then hurled a cup of urine at her.

Police said they identified Yaoita, a part-time worker who lives in Soka, based on security camera footage of his car.

TV Asahi reported that there have been 19 similar cases reported in Koshigaya and Kasukabe since last month. Police said Yaoita has hinted at his involvement in 10 of those cases.

“The more times I did it, the more I got addicted,” Yaoita was quoted by police as saying.
