I got a call from BC Federation of Police Officers and asking for donation, anybody knows this organization?  They said their organization not affiliated with the Vancouver Police Union, and the donations to the BC Federation Police Officers are not tax-deductible, it makes me very confuse cause I thought all donations to charity should be tax-deductible, has anyone got their call before?  Is this organization real?

I received lots of phone calls (usually Sunday morning) from them, too.  Very annoying and I thought this organization is fake, so I just ignored them.  There's one time, I asked the guy to give me his phone number and he just gave me a 1-800 number.  And I asked if he has another office number that I can reach, but he said NO.

It's weird because they mail the information to us and said they have a few call center in different area, but they don't have the office.  Also, how come the organization of BC Federation of police officers ask for donation, they are not under BC Federal Gov't, they should have lots of money.

I got calls all the time and I guess because I listed my name in the phone book and or giving out too much business card.

It is waste of time to search and proof their legal status. I get prepared to answer their call as "thank you for your call, I will donate my money to "world vision" only.
