Quiting a Job

I am trying to resign my position as a PT sales representative from a retailing store.

However, the store manager keeps giving me pressure to make me stay. It is a retail store. ppl come and leave quickly.

It is so frustrating...just wondering if anyone had similar experience of leaving a company and being asked to stay

well think in this way...what can they do if you dont want to stay?

you should be the one making the decision..not your store manager

seeeeeee
told u that u wont work for thatttt long lolll
i've had that experience too
stayed 3 months longer
only making the manager even more mad when i finally quit

TOP

what kind of pressure is that?

I always believe pressure will drive you quit

hm..... it doesn't matter what he said unless this job don't stress you out anymore
so.... ask for a ridiculous high raise/promotion and tell him that you'd quit because that's what has been offering from other places.

yes...this job stresses me a lot. i not only have to work long hours everyday (as a PT) and i have to sell extended warranty on electronic...well, i sold quit a lot..maybe that's one of the reason the manager wanna keep me and bcuz it is close to back to school time.

from my perspective, i wanna focus on school and spend more time with my family, especially my dad will be here soon....

i will be working tmr..i guess he will take me to his office and persuade me again. i will say no, but i dun wanna have an ugly ending. but if he gonna gives me faces to look at or words to hear, i will just suck it up.

no point to stay even if he is willing to reduce my hours cuz i will quit eventually.

If you are in school, and you want to concentrate on it instead of working at a job that is making you stressed out like crazy. Just quit. They can't do anything. Write them a letter of resignation:

Re: <Your position in the company>

Dear <Your manager's name>:

The purpose of this resignation letter is to inform you I will be leaving my position on July <2 weeks from day you give it to them>, 2008.

I have appreciated both being part of the <Your company> team and the opportunities that have been provided to me.

Sincerely,

<Your name>
