Hi,

I noticed there isn't any sub-forum for renovations anymore....hope I am posting at the right section.

I have ordered some Walnut flooring from a store in Richmond. It's costing me $6 a sqft (including labor). what you thinking of the price? Is walnut a good material?

what kind of "walnut" floor is that?  hardwood, engineered, or laminate?

it's hardwood....from "Creative Carpet" on Bridgeport in Richmond.

I like walnut myself but the caveat of walnut hardwood is that it might show dents and scratches easier because of its darker colour.

$6 including carpet removal or not?  If it is then it's pretty good price.

Are you sure it's $6 for hardwood including labour?  I had mine installed 3.5 years ago but it is only engineered wood (1/8" walnut + plywood backing).

If it indeed is walnut, is it American walnut or is it European walnut?

hey guys...it's China Walnut   sort of scary...and the $6 a sqft includes labor (I had a very worn out hardwood floor from the 50s...and all they would do is to put the new walnut flooring on top of it and put base board in).
