The $2-billion Canada Line is on track to open by August, months ahead of the rapid transit extension's officially planned launch date of late November.

Construction is proceeding ahead of schedule and "expectations are the system will open in August," according to a report to TransLink's board.

TransLink CEO Tom Prendergast confirmed the accelerated launch date.

do you know how much to ride from richmond and get off in downtown?

okyee.... I am answering my own question. So except the airport station which they haven't decided if an extra fee will apply. The rest of the stops are the same:

How much will it cost to ride the Canada Line?
The fare system on the Canada Line will be the same as on the existing SkyTrain line, as the Canada Line will be fully integrated with the transit services of TransLink.  The fare structure will also be the same 3 zone system as the existing TransLink fare structure, except for the Airport Special Fare Zone, for Canada Line trips entering or leaving Sea Island (YVR stations).

How do you get to the stations in Richmond? It is so inconvenient to get there.
So from Richmond to downtown Vancouver will be 2 zones?

I can walk 20 min from my home... I am hoping that they will setup more park and ride locations.

from richmond to downtown vancouver is 2 zones (u only need 1 zone tickets at non peak hours and weekends)

i wish they have promotion for free ride for the 1st week...haha.

well, once the canada line opens, it will be good to take skytrain to downtown on weekends. I think they only charge one zone fare on weekends.
look forward to that...
